Not Giving Your Best Wellness Performance.

As the wellbeing industry becomes more and more flooded with the 'big money' guys, more therapies to have and more locations to be treated some of us smaller wellness spaces and independent therapists are getting pushed out due to higher out goings and less predictable bookings.

I've met a couple of interesting clients today to discuss this with and those of us that have been working in the industry for the past decade (and longer) can really see the shift. And now there is definitely no pattern

Just to clarify I am not bitter about the big money being pumped into the industry because it allows for more offerings popping up to support people into better health habits. What I don't like is the performance.

The performance of trying to make something happen, something out of the ordinary and earth shattering... what I mean by this is going to breathwork classes to have a transformational experience through entering a hypoxic state without support, going for reformer pilates before you've even done pilates on a mat, doing a parasite cleanse but not using a binder with it, eating organic but not removing the toxins from your home that are in your cleaning products and perfumed candles.

Wellbeing really starts in you and your home, making your environment safe and calm, removing the stimulation of bright lights and screens, reducing the consumption of processed foods and sugar, getting more movement in to your daily routine without tracking your progress and then beating yourself up over the days where you might have done less steps. Its spending time laughing with family and friends, its being comfortable and not stretched financially, reducing excess and feeling like you enjoy the world around you.

Wellbeing doesn’t need to be another thing to add to your list, or something flashy and new its for you to feel healthy and happy and sometimes the ever growing list of things to do doesn't make longevity feel any better or more exciting.

How do you feel about the wellbeing space or am I being grumpy?
